PROFILE

A charity recognised by the Inland Revenue, ref. XR17750

Funded by the Department of Social Development under Measure 3.3 of the European Union Building Sustainable Prosperity Programme.

The Confederation is a networking organisation serving a membership of more than 200 voluntary and community groups in Armagh City and District.

SUPPORT TO OUR GROUPS

Representation: We represent and campaign for our members locally, regionally and nationally. We collect and feed back information from members to inform policy makers and funders so they can make decisions best suited to local needs.

Co-ordination: We help groups to link up with each other and can put groups with similar interests in touch with each other so they can gain mutual experience.

Training: We can provide training in the use of computers and the administration and financial aspects of your group. We can also give advice about other training opportunities and the New Deal voluntary sector option.

Information: We provide practical advice and assistance in finding suitable funders and completion of application forms. We can also advise you on your group’s legal status, registration as a charity and other matters concerning the day to day running of a community group.

SERVICES TO OUR GROUPS

Neutral venue: Our offices in the centre of Armagh are wheelchair-accessible and open to all sections of the local population. We can provide a neutral meeting space, especially useful to cross-community groups.

Meetings: Groups can use our offices for small committee meetings or seminars or we can advise you on suitable locations for running conferences and exhibitions.

Communications: we can provide your group with a mailing address or your own
e-mail address. Groups can also have access to our community computer for their own use and to access the Internet.

Printing and publicity: We can design and produce newsletters, leaflets, posters, booklets and other publicity materials for your group or we can advise you on suitable computer programmes for your own use.

Photocopying: all member groups can have good-quality photocopying and laser or colour printing done at low cost.
