Health Impact Assessment training now available
Health Impact Assessment training now available Health
Impact Assessment (HIA) is a practical, systematic methodology that seeks to
influence policy and programmes in favour of health. HIA provides
decision makers with an evidence base of how a proposal may impact on the
health and wellbeing of a population. HIA contributes to many areas of
work and seeks to enhance social, economic and environmental wellbeing and
tackle health inequalities. The Institute of Public Health in
Ireland is now calling for applications for the next comprehensive HIA
training course, which will take place from 19th - 21st May 2008 in the
Hilton Dublin Kilmainham Hotel. This course will be of interest to
government departments, local councils, health services, the community and
voluntary sector and others whose work impacts on health. The Institute
is keen to include representatives from a wide range of organisations,
however places are limited and early booking is advisable.
