Led by experienced staff from the Imperial War Museum, competition winners
will spend a weekend in London during October preparing for the visit. In
November they will head to France and Belgium to discover some of the amazing
stories of the men and women who experienced the First World War on the Western
Front. They will have the opportunity to represent their communities at
commemorative events to mark the 90th anniversary of the Armistice. All travel,
accommodation, food and fees will be paid for by Their Past Your Future. Friends
and family will be able to follow the group via daily updates on the Radiowaves
website www.radiowaves.co.uk/tpyf

Their Past Your Future
Their Past Your Future is a UK-wide education project led by a partnership of
the Imperial War Museum, Museums, Libraries and Archives England, National
Library of Wales, Northern Ireland Museum Council and Scottish Museums Council,
supported by the Big Lottery Fund. The project aims to increase young peoples
understanding and appreciation of history, commemoration, national identity and
civic participation/responsibility through learning programmes engaging with
veterans of conflict, and with primary sources from UK museums, libraries and
archives.
