Safefood are holding a conference on Tackling
Food Poverty, in Ballymascanlon House Hotel, Dundalk on the 5th
November.
The conference aims to promote better understanding of the relationship
between food and poverty on the island of Ireland.
Safefood has funded two projects and the results of these projects will be
launched.
- Decent Food for All – Food Poverty and Obesity: a broader approach for a
more balanced diet (Dr Kevin Balanda, Institute of Public Health in Ireland) and
- Diet, Nutrient Intake and Attitudes among disadvantaged groups on the island
of Ireland (Dr John Kearney & Dr Dan McCartney, Dublin Institute of
Technology).
